The Southeast Iowa Swarm is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2024 when the Xplosion and Mudd Dawgs organizations joined to strengthen youth baseball and softball opportunities in the region. The org centers itself in Burlington, Iowa expanding into surrounding Iowa communities and across the Mississippi River into western Illinois.
Each year, the Swarm fields baseball and softball teams from 6 to 7 years-of-age up to high-school-aged players. While the organization sponsors try-outs each year to recruit players, the organization strives to compile teams that cover a wide range of skill levels. The more kids playing ball, the better!
The teams primarily target USSSA events; however, they freely participate in other associations’ tournaments on a team-by-team basis.
